About Fantasy Pools Gold Coast

Fantasy Pools Gold Coast is a website for homeowners planning a concrete pool, from Coomera and Pimpama down to Currumbin Waters. It is not a pool builder. It sets out the steps, approvals and choices behind a new pool or a renovation in plain language, so you can weigh up your options before committing. When you are ready, you can request a free quote here and get your pool built by licensed and insured pool builders who work locally.

Who this site is for

Most visitors are Gold Coast homeowners at an early stage. Some want a new concrete pool on a flat suburban block. Others are dealing with a steep site in Tallai or Mudgeeraba, a tight courtyard that suits a plunge pool, or an older pool that has started to look tired.

If any of that sounds like you, the pages here are written to help you think the job through before you speak with a builder.

What you will find here

The site covers the main kinds of residential concrete pool work:

  • new concrete pool construction and custom designs
  • plunge pools and lap pools for smaller or narrower yards
  • pools on sloping blocks
  • renovation and resurfacing of existing concrete pools

Alongside the service pages, there is guidance on the approval steps, the paperwork a homeowner should expect and the questions worth asking before you sign anything.

Are you the builder?

No. This website does not design, dig or finish pools, and it holds no building licence of its own. The work itself is carried out by licensed and insured local contractors.

Checks you can make yourself

You do not need to take anyone's word for a builder's credentials. A few simple checks go a long way:

  • Licence. In Queensland, a contractor building a concrete pool worth more than $3,300 needs a QBCC licence in the swimming pool construction class that covers concrete work. You can look up any contractor on the QBCC online licence search.
  • Contract. Domestic pool work over $3,300 calls for a written contract that is signed and dated. On jobs of $20,000 or more, the builder should hand you the QBCC Consumer Building Guide before you sign.
  • Home warranty. For insurable pool work over $3,300, the builder arranges cover under the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme. Ask for confirmation that it is in place.
  • Approval. The pool and its safety barrier need building approval from a licensed certifier before work begins.

Running these checks with every builder you talk to makes it far easier to compare like with like.

Before you take the next step

Have a rough idea of where the pool would sit, whether the yard slopes and whether you want a new build or work on an existing pool. Knowing those three things makes every conversation with a builder more productive.
